TPS650864: regarding Load switch

Part Number: TPS650864

Tool/software:

Hi

We are using TPS6508641RSKT to power XQZU19EG-2FFQB1517I. We are following implementation 6.4 as per SCEA113 document. The current consumption on VCC_PSINTFP is around 1.3A. We are concerned about the voltage drop that could happen at the load switch for this current. The load switch used is TPS22920YZPRB. Please let us know if we can remove these 2 load switches and connect directly. We do not have any requirement for low power consumption.

  • Hi Prema,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I agree, there will be some drop across the load switches. The main purpose of the load switches here is to give the flexibility of power sequencing. If power sequencing is not a concern for your application for the rails connected to the load switches, then i would recommend removing the load switches for even additional cost savings.

  • Hi

There is another implementation in SCEA113 document 6.1 where these Load switches are not used and it is for the same Zynq Ultrasacale+ FPGA.

Please let us know if this Load switch is for power sequencing or power management?. If we remove the Load switch can it still power ZU19EG?

  • Hi Prema,

I have just answered your question in the previous thread here, if there are no other concerns, I may close this thread.

    Best Regards,
    Sarah
