TPS25751: Change output state when GPIOs are used as ouputs

Tool/software:

We load our program through an external MCU and wo some GPIOs as output.

In the datasheet IO Config register (5Ch) and GPIO Status register (72h) are read-only. In addition, it seems trivial to configure the GPIOs as outputs.

Any insights on how to set the GPIO pins low/high?

Is there a "hidden" register, or is there something wrong with the documentation?

Hi Alexander,

IO Config (5Ch) is only configurable through the Application Customization Tool, during run-time (when the PD config is loaded and MODE 3h reads APP) the GPIOs are non-configurable. For available GPIO events you can refer to https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvucr8a/slvucr8a.pdf#page=81

So, in other words, the GPIOs not be used as an output runtime?

Hi Alexander,

IO Config (0x5C) should not be configured during run-time, you can however pre-set the GPIO to specific events through the TPS25751 GUI. Once an event is tied to a GPIO pin, that specific IO pin will act according to the behavior described in TPS25751 Technical reference manual GPIO Events table (linked above).

Thank you. I suggest updating the datasheet to clarify that the GPIOs are unusable as outputs at runtime.
