LM51772: Behavior when switching between PSM modes

Part Number: LM51772

Tool/software:

Dear Sirs and Madams,

We are currently verifying the operation of the LM51772 on an actual board in order to consider its adoption.

Therefore, we would like to confirm for buck-boost operation of LM51772.

/***********************************************************************************************************************************************/

VIN : 20V

VOUT : 18.9V (FB register 100k / 5.6k) *Output voltage is adjustable from 10V to 42V (not I2C controlled, but external feedback resistor)

IOUT : 3.5A max (Rsense : 2m Ohm)

PSM : Active (MODE is connected to GND)

PCM : Disable

I2C : Not used

/***********************************************************************************************************************************************/

The following shows the operation when IOUT is 0.4A, with switch and paue repeated.

We have confirmed that this is the same operation as Figures 7-6 in the datasheet.

The waveform when IOUT is 0.5A is shown below:

There are times when the inductor current (IL) increases. Is this normal operation?

Is there a way to avoid this temporary increase in inductor current?

Regards,

Masashi
