TPS3435: TPS3435JFMAFDSER

Part Number: TPS3435

Tool/software:

Hello!

Can you please help me with more information for the following watchdog chip: TPS3435JFMAFDSER.

I see that this chip has a preset delay of 50s, but I want to scale it and I saw that the scaling could be 1, 2 and 4. I want to scale to 4.  I need a minimum delay of 180 s (3 minutes).

Can you please give me more information about how to set the SET0 pin so that I can achieve the scaling factor of 4? What level should I choose for the SET0 pin?

I have another question about the same class of watchdogs, TPS3435, for which I posted below its footprint and pinout:

Do you have a part number for this footprint? It seems that it can be found even on your site, but that would be great for the application I am using. I have a space constraint board and the package that came in is perfect, also could be configurable. Doesn't have an enable but that could be solved with some extra components.

Thanks! I am waiting you answer.

  • Hi George,

The J pinout of the TPS3435JFMAFDSER only supports 1x and 2x watchdog time scaling, so a max timeout of 100sec.

We currently do not have a K pinout device released that is why there is no orderable part number.

    Thanks,
    Joshua

  • Hi George,

I would also like to point out that we have two released timeout watchdog variants (TPS35AA17AGADDFR  & TPS35AA17AGADDFR )that can meet your timing requirements. They are a larger SOT-23 8 pin package, but can use adjustable capacitance to set your desired timing

    Thanks,
    Joshua

  • Hello Joshua! Thanks for your response. So in the datasheet there is a wrong info. For A it says the scaling is 1, 2 and 4.

But you said is just 1, 2. Can you please clarify, cause it is misleading.

Also I need a very small package, and this package is small enough. The other packages don't interest me. Can you please tell me what the K will be release, for the package I've mentioned above.

    Thanks!

  • Hi George,

I am sorry that this information was unclear. It is not that the datasheet has wrong info it is that certain pinouts (ones that only have a single SET pin) only allow for the first two watchdog time scaling options, but if the package and pinout allow for both a SET0 and SET1 then the device can achieve all three watchdog time scaling options.

We do not have any planned K pinout devices.

    Thanks,
    Joshua
