UCC21750: does the DESAT feature need the non 100% duty operation to trigger?

Part Number: UCC21750

Tool/software:

Dear team,

May I know, according to user guide 2.2.3 Overcurrent and Short Circuit Soft Turn OFF Test

Why do we find that if Duty adjust to fully turn on (99.99%) to EVM, desaturation function couldn’t be triggered?

is this related to the description?

Best regards,

Hank Lin

  • Hi Hank,

If the duty cycle is very low and the output does not stay high for long enough, the leading edge blanking time and deglitch time will come into play and basically prevent DESAT from triggering. Duty cycle being very high should not affect DESAT triggering.

Could you help provide the following waveforms in your setup to help us understand it better?

    • Input signal
    • Vgs/output signal
    • DESAT
    • nFLT

    Thanks,

    Vivian
