I am designing a power supply for a communication unit:

Input range : 9-38VDC.

Dual Outputs are required :

a.3.3VDC @ 2A /more - for processor .

b.5VDC @2A/more - for all the peripherals.

As the processor should be turned ON first , then the peripherals , power sequencing is required.

i.e 3.3VDC is ON first , then only the 5VDC.

Please assist the best solution for the same.

There is a power quick search at power.ti.com that can help you find suitable devices. If you could reduce your Vin range, the TPS54283 or TPS54383 would be great fits. Otherwise, the TPS54240 suits your specs.

if you could reduce max input voltage from 38V to 32V , TPS51220A would be a good fit.

Hi Sanjay,

If two single-phase controller ICs are acceptable, you may also look at TPS40170 (input range 4.5-60V), TPS40057 (input range 8-40V).

I also found LM25119 under TI Power Management Products, which is a dual-output synchronous buck controller, with input range of 4.5 to 42V.
