LP5912: Power good connection at pin number: 3

Part Number: LP5912

Tool/software:

Dear TI Team,

We are selected LP5912-1.2DRVR this part for our design, But we are not sure about the Power good pin status. Please see the below connection and datasheet snapshot.

As per datasheet recommendation it is mentioned as, connect it with 10k-100k Pull-up Resistor. Is it really required the Pull up or we can simply left it open?

Please provide details justification of your answer.

Regards,

Haresh

  • Hi Haresh,

If you intend to use the PG signal it must be pulled up to a voltage rail, otherwise the PG pin has no mechanism to assert high when the output is in regulation. If you do not intend to use the PG signal, the PG pin can be left floating. There is no consequence to leaving PG pin floating if you do not need the PG signal.

    Regards,

    Nick
