BQ76952: Designing a simple BMS, does it still need to be programmed?

Part Number: BQ76952

Tool/software:

Hello,

We were looking to use the BQ76952 to build a BMS system. Had found your reference design using a 2 layer board and it looks simple enough to start with (attached below).

However my question was, does the BQ6592 still needs to be programmed, registers set ? In order to use it?

In our application we don't have time to program the BMS before shipping it to the client.

Overcurrent, over voltage, short circuit protection, under voltage protection, cell balancing is all what we are looking for now. And the BQ76952 seems to be a good fit for it.
