in some platforms/finished PCBAs equipped with your devices we are planning the application of Conformal Coating for the typical known scopes (protection from moisture, contaminants, …).
We need your valuable support for some information/details:
- Are ALL your devices’ series compatible with conformal coating? Or there might be different behavior series by series and you need the exact affected ones’ list to answer?
- What are the limitations in terms of usable coating types?
- What are the precautions we shall adopt when applying the coating? Do you have any available document/guideline/link in your website?
- Which kind of tests did you run to validate the compatibility of coating types with your devices? (e.g. thermal expansion study / chemical tests / …)
- Do you use releasing agents in your backend process, which can affect the coating? Can you please provide the types’ list of used releasing agents in your backend process?
