TPS7H2201-SP: Use as load switch

Part Number: TPS7H2201-SP

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am looking for a RAD-Hard load switch suitable for a 5V rail with a load of 3.2 Amps. The switch must feature a controlled slew rate, an enable pin, and meet radiation hardness specifications of over 60 krad and 40 MeV.

After searching your catalog, I could not find a dedicated load switch but came across an eFuse that appears to fit these requirements. Would it be feasible to use this eFuse as a load switch? Are there any limitations or considerations I should be aware of when doing so?

Additionally, do you offer any load switches that meet the specifications outlined above?

I appreciate your guidance and recommendations.

Best regards,

Ai

  • Hi Aitor,

Yes, this part would be suitable for your radiation and electrical requirements as a load switch.

While it is currently classified as an eFuse, this device was previously classified as a load switch and you can see terminology that reflected in some of its existing documents like the SMD. The change in classification is simply due to standardization of TI-wide terminology since the two categories are very closely related. In reality, it is perfectly suited as a load switch for space applications as you might expect.

    Thanks,

    Sarah
