TPS1641: Potentially burn when using the TPS1641 if input is 40V?

hi team,

With the TPS1641, the input pin is burned out when loading at 40V input.

And now, apply TVS as the surge voltage protection.

May I know what could potentially burn when using the TPS1641 if input is 40V?

Or what are the ways to protect them since I am going to use this part on Vin=30V case?

    Hello Jenny,

    TPS1641 abs max voltage for Input pin is around 40V. Going above abs max voltage will destroy the device.

    What's the break down voltage of TVS connected?

    What's the test case to apply 40V at input?

    Is 40V a constant voltage or a pulse voltage.
