TPS27S100: Fault pin status during a hard supply to ground short circuit

TPS27S100 datasheet says if the current exceed the external current limit set by the external resistor, fault is reported, is this true for a supply to ground short circuit condition?

Hi Sooraj,

By supply to ground short, do you mean that the VS pin is shorted to ground, or the OUT pin is shorted to ground?

If you mean that the VS pin is shorted to GND, the VS will go to 0V and the FAULT pin will stay Hi-Z. If you mean that the OUT pin is shorted to GND, then yes a FAULT will be reported.

Yes, if the OUT pin is shorted to ground, FAULT will go LOW.
