TPS65988: Looking for Charger Detect Divider<n>

Part Number: TPS65988
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2514

Tool/software:

After "Charger Detect' event, register 0x3f Power Status indicates what it would.  However, some of the cases are unclear:

What are Divider2, Divider1, and Divider3?

One assumes that one or more of these are the legacy Apple chargers.  If so, which one?  Are there other vendors' cases here?

Thanks.

Eric

  • Hi Eric,

I need to check with the team on this one, I will get back to you later in the week.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris

  • Hi Eric,

I could not find too much information on this, but let me share what I did find.

These divider settings are additional charger settings related to BC1.2 DCP, and they add more options for power settings. These do appear to be related to some legacy "popular device makers" so it is likely that includes legacy Apple chargers.

They do seem to be clearly defined, so if you find that certain legacy devices support DCP Dividers, then it should align with these settings.

This image is taken from the TPS2514 data sheet.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Chris
