Hi Experts,
Customer is designing a servo drive that uses the Gan half bridges LMG2100R044.
Would like to demonstrate approvals to EN61010. Operating up to 70V DC the standard states that for a secondary circuit the clearance distance needs to be more than 0.53mm. This is the case for some of the pins on the device, but not all, the charge pump pins are too close together.
Can you help us understand how this device is expected to meet these standards?
Regards,
Archie A.
Hi Archie,
When designing a TI device package, our systems team will determine which end equipments are required for the device and their corresponding electrical spacing requirements.
I have reached out to our systems team who designed this device and will get a response after TI US holidays early next week
Thanks,
Zach
Hi Zach,
Good day.
Would like to ask update on this query.
Thank you.
Regards,
Archie A.
Hello Archie,
Thank you for your patience, I have some follow-up for you:
When designing this package, we spoke with many customers in the energy infrastructure market and decided to use IPC2221A, B2 spacing, with margin for the package clearances:
This has proven to be suitable for all applications with margin, please share with customer. Is the customer requiring a different spacing, such as A6 in the below table?:
You mention Servo drive as end equipment, if you have any more information about the spacing requirements and what is driving them (also customer name if possible) please include as well.
Thanks,
Zach
