Tool/software:
I have an outdated NiMH battery charge circuit employing a bg2010 device to indicate the charge level with 3 distinct LEDs. The design is for 8 1.2v 1500ma batteries or 9.6v output. The temperature during charge is monitored via a thermistor. The application is for a motor drive of a Leica R9 film camera. After replacing the old batteries with new cells (spot welded) the battery pack only ever shows a single illuminated LED even though the pack is fully charged.
Please check if the voltage on SB is correct and make sure to run a qualifying discharge with your new cells.
The voltage should be that of the battery pack (pin 11) on SB? I'm not sure of the procedure for a qualifying discharge. Due to a bad cell in the old pack the voltage fell below the normal 1.2v.
You need to fully charge the battery and then discharge it at room temperature with a medium load (e.g. C/5).
