BQ79758-Q1: General question

Part Number: BQ79758-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi expert,

My customer want to evaluate BQ79758-Q1 in auto 48V system. And there are some questions need your explanation:

  • Could you share some reference design of BQ79758-Q1?
  • Can customer use total cap coupled on different PCBs (BQ79758 to BQ79600), it means can we use cap to replace below transformer? Where the below transformer be placed, BQ79758 side or BQ79600 side? And this project has several boards which have individual BQ79758, and then use the same BQ79600 to connect different boards' BQ79758. Could customer use different coupled solution in different board with BQ79600 (such as, A board uses total cap coupled solution and B board uses transformer coupled solution)? What's the potential risk if customer use different coupled solution.

  • What's the resolution of BQ79758's ADC?
  • Whether GPIOs have latching function? And does the output type of GPIO is push-pull?

BR,

Thanks.

  • Besides, what's the resolution of BQ79758's current detection ADC? We need all ADC resolution information, are all 16 bit? Thanks a lot.

  • Hi Ryker,

The image attached is the reference design for one type of isolation, any acceptable types are listed in the datasheet. If the customer wants to use different isolations on different boards that are not listed in the datasheet, then the customer has to evaluate their EMI requirements. The resolutions for the ADCs for are listed in the conversion equation table. This states how many micro volts is 1 LSB.

    Regards,
