TPS54429: What happen when Vout is set at 5.66V

Part Number: TPS54429

Tool/software:

Hello teams

The recommended Vout for the TPS54429 is 5.5V,

but if it is set to 5.66V, what kind of abnormal behavior will occur in the TPS54429?

The absolute maximum rating is 6.5V, so I understand that the TPS54429 will not be damaged.

So, if Vout is set to 5.6V, what kind of situation will occur without damaging the device? Will Vout oscillate?

I apologize for the inconvenience, but I would appreciate your advice.

Best regards,Akashi

  • Hi Akashi,

The Output Voltage Range is 0.76 V to 7.0 V,

the Abs Max rating of FB pin is 6.5V, so no problem for FB pin to see 5.66V voltage.

In normal operating, FB always see 0.76V at any Vout unless the RFBT is short or RFBB is open.
