Hi Team
May I ask if we have a switch charger solution for long/short battery that supports power path & USB Port?
Thanks,
Boyan

Hi Boyan,
You are going to need to be much more specific than that. Many of our parts support D+/D- detection and have charge currents ranging from 10's of mA to several Amperes of charging.

Hi Michael
The customer's Vin=5V, the block diagram is as shown below.

Thanks,

Hi Boyan,
Again, there are several chargers in the portfolio that can meet your needs. I suggest you search the below page for the desired features:

Hi Mike
I have searched the website you gave me but the scope is still too wide. The client hopes that our AE will directly recommend several options to him and they can choose directly.
I also hope to be recommended by people in your professional field, because I am not a professional in this field.
Thanks,
Boyan
Hi Boyan,
There are many questions to answer, as evident by the fact that there are many available choices. When I filter with 6V charge voltage max, D+/D- capable, there are 23 parts available. Here are some starter questions that can help narrow your search:
1. Power Path or Non Power Path?
2. What termination current limit is needed?
3. What input current limit is needed?
4. Are integrated FETs required or can a charge controller be used?
5. Are you looking for a programmable or standalone part?
6. How much charge current is needed?
7. What temperature profile (Hot/Cold or JEITA) is desired for interface with the thermistor?
8. Do you want different chargers for the different blocks presented?
9. What discharge current does the battery intend to discharge at maximum draw?
Please work with the customer to identify their key requirements so we can better recommend a part for you.

Mike Emanuel
Hi Mike
1. Power Path or Non Power Path?
A:Non power path
2. What termination current limit is needed?
A:
> Short-term capacity is about 200mAh +/- 10%, ITERM is 2mA to 10mA (1% to 5%)
> Long-lasting Li-Ion capacity is about 800mAh to 1000mAh (currently under survey): Estimate ITERM (1% to 5%)
3. What input current limit is needed?
A:
> Long-acting ≥ 3A; Short-acting: ≥ 1A
4. Are integrated FETs required or can a charge controller be used?
A:
> integrated FETs
5. Are you looking for a programmable or standalone part?
A:
> standalone part
6. How much charge current is needed?
A:
>Support 2C Fast charge, long-term 2C: 1.6A to 2A; short-term: 0.4A
7. What temperature profile (Hot/Cold or JEITA) is desired for interface with the thermistor?
A:
> Could a standalone part charger support the JEITA format? If it can, please choose JEITA.
8. Do you want different chargers for the different blocks presented?
A:Yes
9. What discharge current does the battery intend to discharge at maximum draw?
A:
>Support 2C discharge, long-acting 2C: 1.6A to 2A; short-acting: 0.4A
Please help me provide suitable IC according to customer needs.
Thanks,
Boyan
Hi Boyan,
I would recommend BQ25629. It supports all of the requirements above.
Since USB-C is the input, an I2C part must be used instead of a standalone part because the I2C must be able to change the settings dynamically based on the negotiated USB-C input.
