TL783: TL783CKTTR Life Cycle Status

Hello,

In October of 2023 the PDN 20231004006.3 was sent out which showed that the part TL783CKTTR would be discontinued with a last time buy of April 5, 2024. I see now that this date has passed and the product page for TL783CKTTR shows that the part is still active. Is this part no longer being discontinued? What is the life cycle plans for this part now?

    Hello,

    That initial PDN you referenced was rescinded and the device now remains Active. That being said, this device is very old and a more modern LDO like TPS7A43 should be used where possible.

    The TPS7A43 is not suited for our application due to its low output current capabilities. If we were to swap parts it would likely be something like LM317HVT/NOPB which is also an older part from what I understand. Do you have a recommended newer part with similar specs to the TL783CKTTR or the LM317HVT/NOPB that would justify a design update?

    Hello,

    Although not terribly new, the LM317HVT/NOPB is definitely preferred to the TL783KTTR. We don't have anything newer with higher current capability + VIN ≥ 60V.
