BQ79616: Information on modifying daisy chain payload and receive Balancing signals

I have 2 questions regarding BQ79616;

1. Is there way to modify or emulate BQ79616 differential daisy chain bus payload to include other data than cell voltages and temperature? 

2. Can we receive balancing signals or flags without actually connecting cells to the BQ79616 internal ADCs?

    Naveen,

    1) The daisy chain relays any commands sent to the base device and the responses from the stack devices. Any information you request via the command structure discussed in section 8.3.6.1.1 of the datasheet (link) will go across the daisy chain and ultimately be given to the MCU.

    2) You can activate the balancing system using a resistor ladder and it will work as described in section 8.3.3 of the datasheet. The balancing FETs are not going to change the voltage across the resistors, but if you wish to test the systems you can do so.
