i'm learning the app note: Basic of Ideal Diodes, can someone help me understand why it says: Note output goes negative?

the images are from section 4.1 Reverse Battery Protection using P-Channel MOSFET.

Hi Ming,

For PFET to turn-off, input needs to swing negative and while PFET is completely turned-off, VOUT will see negative voltage and downstream load will be damaged.
