Hi expert,

I found that when BQ27426 was configured with a different chemical ID, the following screen was automatically changed to the configuration value, which is reasonable. But I can also manually change the values in the figure below, doesn't that mean that BQ27426 can customize the chemical ID? There seems to be a contradiction with the three chemical IDs described by datasheet, which can only be configured as presets. What is the reason?

    Hello Winnie,

    No, those are just parameters related to the ChemID, changing these parameters does not change the ChemID.

    Hi Adrian,

    But, Doesn't the chem ID represent a collection of these parameters, and different IDs are behind different parameter values. Can you tell me the difference between the two?

    Hello Winnie,

    There are parameters not visible to the user that gets updated when the ChemID is programmed. The parameters visible to you are for you to customize the setting to fit the battery you are using for accurately.

    Hi Adrian,

    According to the Ti gauge application guidance, the SENC file needs to be exported, but I only saw the method to export GG file in BQstudio. In combination with the documentation for the BQ27426, I guess this is not required for the BQ27426 chip and the Update Status value can be changed to 11 on the impedance tracking algorithm after the basic parameter configuration and calibration is complete. Cycle charge and discharge by following “Figure 2.22 Golden Learning Steps” in the following figure, waiting for these to turn red, GG files can be exported as production firmware. Is my idea correct?

    Hello Winnie,

    It is recommend to use the srec file as the production file. Since programming the srec file will program the gauge firmware and golden image.
