Tool/software:
Dear TI Support Team,
We are using the BQ34Z100 for an 11S1P battery configuration and encountered an issue during our testing process. The steps we followed are:
- Completed learning with a 1S1P configuration and created a golden image.
- Modified the parameters to match the 11S configuration and programmed the golden image onto the BQ34Z100.
- Conducted charging and discharging tests.
Observed Issue:
After discharging approximately 30% of the capacity from a fully charged state, the gauge SOC was consistent with our BMS coulomb counting SOC (~69%). However, after resting for 6 hours (no current flow), the gauge SOC recalibrated to 91%. Despite this, subsequent charging tests showed that an additional 30% capacity could still be charged into the battery.
Questions:
- Does the BQ34Z100 perform SOC recalibration or lookup table updates during a no-current rest state?
- During testing, we performed current calibration but not voltage calibration. The gauge voltage is approximately 300mV higher than the actual voltage. Could this discrepancy affect the SOC calculation and recalibration?
We have attached the test logs for your reference.
