BQ34Z100-R2: Learned Status not progressing past 5

Good afternoon. I am having trouble with learning cycle, we are stuck at Learned Status 5 and can not progress to 6 after several discharge cycles.

The cells are 4S10P LG M50LT 21700 5,000 mAh

I Since resistor is 0.125Ω therefor the max current is 1,000 mA as we require high resolution current sensing for this low power IoT device.

Braking this down is steps: -

Thank you for directing me to the post.
I have started from the beginning again after re-flashing the IC, but I could not get learned status back to 0.

However, the strange thing is, sequence of Learned status is odd.
The transition from Learned status 4 to 5 is supposed to happen between Charge to full (4) and relax for 2 hours then (5).

However,

Started with full battery, status 4

Discharge to Empty relax for 5 hours, then it jumped to 5?
How do I perform full reset and get back to status 0 and start from the beginning using the alternative method.
Now I am at, full discharged battery, relax, Status 5, VOK clear and QUN set, Rest is set.
Where best to go from here?

Hello Anthony,

Unfortunately there is not a way to bring update status back down to 0. The only way would be to reflash the firmware onto the gauge.

Can you manually change Learned Status back to 0x04? If so, then do that, then continue with the learning cycle by charging the battery to full.

Hello Adrian,

I re-installed the firmware and set change Learned Status back to 0x04 and re ran the learning cycle.

Unfortunately after the discharge >5 hours and REST set, I am still stuck at 0X05. I have carefully followed all the guides and checked all settings.

I am at a loss now to what the issue could be.

The Cells are LGC: INR21700M50LT (4932mAh). ChemID=0576.

Can you please have a look at the attached GG and see if there is anything standing out. Unfortunately the cycle process is over 100 hours and my PC sent to sleep and did not capture the Cycle log.

Hi Adrian, This is a 50,000 mAh battery discharging @ 1,000 mA therefor C/0.02.

I have now installed a different resistor for 4 Amps to allow me to do C/0.25

Hello Anthony,

For the learning cycle, you need to discharge between C/5 to C/10 . Therefore for you, you need to discharge between 5,000mA and 10,000mA.
