LM5123-Q1: LM5123-Q1:

Part Number: LM5123-Q1

Tool/software:

I am working with LM5123, I was using its design sheet which I downloaded from TI website itself.
for 48V Vout its limiting current to 2A, the datasheet has not specified 100W power dissipation, but the design tool is limiting it. you may refer to the row of max output current, it contains the formula 100/Vload. when the switches are external, why is current capacity and power dissipation limited by the IC?

  • Hello Ankita,

Thanks for reaching out to us via e2e.

Cell H11 is an Input Box which is marked in yellow.
Simply overwrite the content of this cell with the value that you want (e.g. 4A).

The only reason for that formula in there is to give this cell a (somewhat reasonable) default value.
This way, the formule in other cells - which are then using the nmber in H11 - will work.
In case of an empty cell those would show #DIV/0!

    Best regards
    Harry
