Hi,

I need a buck boost IC with low noise and small size(LOW BOM count as well). I don't want to use BGA with very fine pitch like TPS631010. The inductor size should be very small as well. I have not much space available on the board

The input is single cell lipo battery 3 to 4.2V. I need 3V and 1 to 1.5A output.

Can you recommend any IC?

Hi Ali,

If you can down your Iout_max to 1A, i think TPSM83100/1 should be a great option. low EMI and noise, inductor intergrated.

Thanks for the reply but datasheet says, it can go upto 1.5A.
Although, i don't need much current but I want some safety margin.

Hi Ali,

Yes, for device itself, no considering about the efficiency and thermal, yes, it can.

But if you take a look at efficiency curve at DS, you can see that efficiency decrease quickly when Iout is higher than 1A. means low efficiency and much more thermal should be taken care. So, recommend 1A out.
