need help on choosing LCD Display Bias

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65150

In an application I need 5 power sources , with power up sequence:

1)VGL at -7 volts  @ 1 ma,

2)VGH at +16 volts @ 1 ma,

3)AVDD  at +10,4 volts @ 50 ma

4)VCOM at +4 volts

5)B/L at +10 volts @ 180 ma.

Needed Input Voltage for Bias - 5V

i need help in choosing bias.

Can you please help?

Thanks.

For clarity, the LCD's datasheet is also included 4786.DLC0700BIG-1 spec.pdf

  • Hello Dima,

Please check TPS65150. With the external isolation MOSFET driven from the GD pin, you can achieve the above sequencing.

For the B/L supply, I would recommend a LDO from AVDD. The output energy on B/L is a lot higher than the one on AVDD, but the design is easier when going from AVDD to B/L and the efficiency from 10.4V to 10V should is reasonable high. Maybe TPS7A6001 could be used here, but I do not know all LDOs from TI and therefore to find the best fit, I would encourage you to ask for such an LDO in the LDO forum.

Another solution could be to use instead of the LDO from 10.4V to 10V a boost converter from the input voltage to 10V, which might be a little more efficient, but also makes the design more complicated.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
