UCC28950: Synchronous Rectification as H-Brdige

Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to connect the synchronous rectifier as an H-Bridge Configuration using the E and F PWM signals generated from the chip. My immediate thought is no because of the E and F timing signals are overlapping during switching cycles and would thus cause shoot through failures. Is that thinking correct? Is there another way to utilize the controller generated PWM signals to complete this?

I found this article and was wondering if it was possible w/ the UCC28950 or is it only possible with a digital controller solution?

Hello,

You can use the UCC28950 with an SR H Bridge output. The out E and out F were not really designed for this application. They are actually both high durring freewheeling.

I did find this link that describes how to get SR H Bridge control using the UCC28951 with some digital logic and external half bridge drivers.

Please note the UCC28950 is pin for pin compatable to the UCC28951. The recommendations made in this link should work for the UCC28950 as well.
