TPS7H6003-SP: Operating switching frequency range.

The datasheet for the TPS7H6003-SP doesn't have listed a maximum/minimum switching frequency range for this device. We are planning to use this device with the Independent input mode enabled.

I understand that the upper frequency is limited by the propagation delay and rise/fall time of output signals.

The Pspice simulation indicates that there should be no issues running at ~380KHz. If we are planning to run faster, then we just need to change the bootstrap resistor and capacitor to accommodate the recharge time.

Hi Daniel,

If the bootstrap charging capacitor and resistor is configured for 500KHz operation, would there be problem if we try to operate at 380KHz?

We like to have the flexibility to operate at 380KHz or at 500KHz without having to change the charging capacitor and resistor on the board.

Hey Horacio,

As long as the bootstrap can supply power during the entire on time of the HS FET, it will not matter what frequency you run at for the sizing of the capacitor and resistor.
