LM5050-1: ORing of two Power Sources

Part Number: LM5050-1

Tool/software:

Hello Team.

I have designed an ORing board designed to switch between 2 power inputs

Vin: 24V
Vout:24V
Iout 2A (cont)

However I have doubts about the value of:
Diodes D1and D2
Capacitors C1 and C2
Resistor R2

Can anyone advise me on this to make my design work?

  • Hi Ivan,

C1 and C2 are dependent on your use case. They are hold-up capacitors in case of power loss. Minimum 1uF is recommended.

R2 seems to be a load resistor and has nothing to do with the controller.

D1 and D2 are input clamp schottky in case the input supply is shorted to ground.
