TPS65994AE: About Cpp5v requirement

Hi team,

In TPS65994AD datasheet, the recommended capacitance value of Cpp5v is noted that this is from requirement of USB PD(cSrcBulkShared) and to keep at least 10uF tied directly to PP5V.

However in TPS65994AE datasheet, there is no note about above.

Why is there the deference?

In my understanding, when VBUS is powered from shared power supply(external power suply), the requirement of cSrcBulkShared is min 120uF.

Why it is noted that " keep at least 10uF tied directly to PP5V" in TPS65994AD datasheet?

    Hi,

    It is likely that this information was missed in the 994AE datasheet.

    The reason why we mentioned "keep at least 10uF tied directly to PP5V" the cSrcBulkShared is referring to all the capacitance that is on the PP5V rail and we asked customer to place at least a 10uF near PP5V as a bypass cap.
