Tool/software:
Hey. I want to drive efficiently a laser diode and be able to control the current by a microcontroller/fpga through a DAC. Also i would like OC and OV options if available.
The laser diode im using is the following part number:
AFBR-POL2120
By broadcom.
My current design is to use a buck converter with current limiter adjustable from a certain pin that i connect to the dac output. This buck if from analog devices and its kinda old and i wanted to explore other options.
I want the diode output power to be maximum 500mW and according the diode datasheet its around 0.85A.
So i will basically would want to typical drive around 0.6-0.7A and to limit it to 0.85A and to control the current adjustment from a microcontroller/fpga.
I would like a recommendation for a led driver that could meet my requirements, do you have any suggestions from ti components?
