TPS552892: METHODS OF REDUCING POWER CONSUMPTION THE BUCK-BOOST IC

Part Number: TPS552892

Tool/software:

I included TPS552892 as a Buck-Boost Regulator in a design of mine to output stable 12V, from input voltages ranges from 10V to 13.6V, and it should be able to provide output peak currents of 2A at max (And 1A Continuously).

Even though the circuit works and outputs 12V just fine, I determined that it consumed around 190mW, while providing power for a load at 50mW.

Is this normal or otherwise, are there ways to reduce this consumption of the TPS552892 to a minimum. The schematic segment of the Buck-Boost Regulator is included as a PDF.

Thank you.
