BQ25750: Application problems

Part Number: BQ25750

Tool/software:

Hi team,

my customer has some problems of BQ25750.

1. Is the BATFET inside the chip work as an ideal diode?

2. the datasheet show that it is only recommended at single FET. can the back to back diode use as the ideal diode ?

3. When the adapter is not connected and the SYS voltage is higher than the voltage of a certain battery, can charging be carried out through BUCK-BOOST?

4.If the back-to-back BATFET is the ideal diode, what is the reverse cut-off time and forward turn-on time, or how is it calculated?

  • Hello Zoey,

    1. The BATFET doesn't work as an ideal diode unless the bit EN_BATFET_IDEAL_DIODE=1.

    2. We recommend using only a single diode for ideal diode mode because 2 FETs might have a slow turn-on speed.

    3. If the ACFETs are not in place and the VAC pin connects to the SYS pin, yes, you can charge the battery through VSYS.

    4. We don't have information on that. It will depend on the FETs you chose.

By the way, you might want to check out the general FAQ page and the guide on the BQ25750's power path.

Let me know if this answers your questions.
