LM340: LM7805MP vs LM340MP-5.0 - are there any differences in their specifications or not?

Part Number: LM340
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7B83-Q1, TPS7A47

Tool/software:

Hi all,

I am using LM7805MP/NOPB (input voltage +12V) in a design and would like to know if there is any matching part with improved specifications.

The datasheet refers to "LM340A" here, but that seems to be only (?) available as TO-220-3, that is LM340AT-5.0/NOPB.

However, according to the Mouser (Sweden) product page for LM340MP-5.0/NOPB, this seems to share the same specifications as LM340AT-5.0/NOPB, e.g. line regulation 12 mV instead of 50 mV, load regulation 25 mV instead of 50mV, quiescent current 6 mA instead of 8 mA, plus a now quoted typical PSRR of 80 dB.

Are these figures correct or not? If not, is there any other improved part you would recommend here?

Thanks // Karl
