My customer is working on a design using the TLC6C5724-Q1 and is requesting our guidance on how to best monitor the live on/off status of the LED for their fuctional safety use case. Can you please provide any recommendations here?
"Our Safety Goals are related to proper telltale functionality, so we need to monitor the faults associated with LED operation.
Considering that the datasheet mentions ‘Full Diagnostics’ for this part, I can see coverage of various faults like (LOD/LSD/APS/TSD etc).
While these are clear, I’m trying to understand how we could monitor the live on/off status of the LED.
The OUTn_GS register read is the closest option, but it is basically a readback of the control register and may not cover faults on the output drive side."
