TPS551892-Q1: TPS551892 VCC

Part Number: TPS551892-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS63010

Tool/software:

Hi all, TPS551892 can work with a Vin from 2V75 to 4V2 (battery) and a Vout 3V3 or does it need an external 5V power supply?

Thanks

  • Hi Ben,

    TPS551892 doesn't support 2.75V Vin. You can check TPS63010.

    Regards,

    Mulin

  • Ok but I need more current, about 3/4A at Vout.
So I can have 3 to 4V2 IN (battery) and 3V8 3/4A out.
The TPS551892 in this case need an external +5V?

  • Hello Ben,

As Mulin mentions that TPS551892 is not working with 2.75V, I would say that adding a 5V to EXTVCC does not help to get the device to work at such a low input voltage. So you need to increase the input voltage to 3V if you want to use this device.

I recommend checking how much energy is left in the battery between 3V and 2.75V. Would the battery be able to deliver the input current of at least 4A for a load of 3A at an input voltage of 2.75V?

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
