Hello team,

This query is in continuation of this thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1466920/bq25672-bq25672-charging-issue?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=BQ25672#

The customer has shared schematics and sees that when he has shorted the D+/D- pins to ground, the system operates nominally. Do we have to ground the pins or leave them NC when not using the USB input?

We have checked the ILIM_HIZ pin and it does not get grounded at any time but the regular operation doesn't start.

Looking forward to your help!

Thank you,

Akshar Gandhi

  • Hi Akshar,

If left floating, the D+/D- algorithm detects unknown adapter and sets input current limit register to the lower of ILIM_HIZ resistor clamp or 3A.  If shorted, the algorithm detects DCP and sets IINDPM to the lower of 3.25A or ILIM_HIZ resistor clamp.

    Regards,

    Jeff
