BQ34Z100: BQ34Z100 SOC Drop Issue at 100% Rest

Part Number: BQ34Z100

Tool/software:

Dear TI Support Team,

We are using the BQ34Z100 for our design and have completed the learning cycle for an 11S1P core pack. We have also conducted charge/discharge and rest tests.

Specifically, we performed 12-hour rest tests at SOC 100%, 75%, and 20%. During the 100% rest test, we observed that the gauge's SOC drops rapidly.

SOC 100% rest behavior

SOC 75% rest behavior

SOC 20% rest behavior

Among these three cases, the SOC drop at 100% rest seems abnormal. We conducted this 12-hour rest experiment three times with two different battery packs, and the results were consistent.

Afterward, when charging the battery, we found that only about 4% of the capacity was needed to reach full charge, indicating that the actual battery capacity did not drop as quickly as the gauge SOC suggested.

Attached are the gg file and the SOC 100% rest log. Could you help check if this is a configuration issue or if any adjustments are needed?

Best regards,
