BQ76952: Programming GG File

Part Number: BQ76952
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Tool/software:

Dear TI Support,

With the bq76952, is it possible to have cells connected to the circuit and then connect to bqStudio to program a gg file to data memory?

I would like to avoid doing the OTP method as changes may need to be made to the gg file.

Along those lines, for production, if we program using OTP does that mean we cannot modify part if needed?

With the bq76952 EVM, I could just connect 48V and bqStudio would autodetect and from there, I could modify the data memory specific to the application.

Thanks,

Kevin

You should be able to do that.

The device supports up to 8 different signature values, so you can do a maximum number of 8 OTP partial writes. Section 3 OTP Programming of the Calibration and OTP Guide explains how to write OTP in production and Section 3.2 Configuration Using OTP or Registers of the Technical Reference Manual explains more in details regarding OTP.

Correct, though make sure to remove the cell simulators if you are using actual cells. Something to also note, with a reset/power cycle, the device does not retain the changes made in data memory.

    Best Regards,
