UCC39002: Load share

Tool/software:

Customer would like to design a 100W AC/DC Power with two Power supply units.

If there're two devices of UCC29002 used on this application, once one of PSUs is disconnected from the VBUS, what happens with VBUS?

  1. is the rest PSU still operating without any problem?

  2. When one of PSU is disconnected, will its UCC29002 be disabled? Why? 

3. Besides UCC29002 device, what else device you recommended?

Application: Industrial AC motor inverter.

    Hi Brian,

    The load-share controllers are designed for this. If one PSU is removed, the remaining load-share will be forced to be the de-facto leader with no followers. 

    The UCC29002 is the recommended load-share controller.
