BQ34110: GPCCEDV and DOD table accuracy

Part Number: BQ34110
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCEDV

Tool/software:

Hi,

I gathered the required discharge data for an AGM LdA battery and fed it into the GPCCEDV tool. It reported an SOC error below 3%, and it seems that EDV compensation works correctly.

However, in the case of a device reset (after a 10-hour relaxation periods), there is an error in the reported SOC, on the order of 50%. Entering some Reserved Capacity helped reduce this error, as it shifts the OCV values corresponding to SOC levels. However, the error is still larger than desired, at about 30%.

I wonder whether the Voltage % DOD values are used only for SOC approximation after a reset and whether I could modify them to better fit the observed OCV values, or if they are somehow tied to the internal workings of the gauge and should not be modified? Or could this be a sign of an issue within the GPCCEDV data?

Best regards,

Damian
