Hi,

We are looking for a TI solution for 3-phase bridgeless PFC with high efficiency.

Our input voltage range shall be 20-24VAC, and output power requirement is 2.5KW. The system should continue to operate if any phase is lost.

Is the VIN really 20VAC - 24VAC? Typical 3-phase AC input is ~480VAC.

I would recommend using a digital controller like the C2x or UCD3138A, such as the Vienna Rectifier TIDM-1000. It will be difficult to use an analog controller like the UCC28060 in a 3-phase AC PFC.

Hi Jonathan,

Yes this is a a custom AC source with 20-24VAC VIN.

Do you suggest any other option apart from the Vienna Rectifier? Can 3 of single phase PFCs be used?

In summary, you can use 3x single phase PFC using an analog controller, such as the UCC28180. However, you cannot simply tie multiple PFCs to the same output since the PF and the THD will be poor. What you can do instead is have 3x (PFC + DC/DC) and tie the DC outputs together. Or, you can use a Vienna Rectifier with a digital controller.
