The customer wants to confirm the sink current specification of IC-LM73100RPWR.

The problem that OVP encounters at present is that when the IC enters the overvoltage protection, the output voltage is confirmed to be 0V and enters the protection state, but the input current (OVP Vin) of a small number of ICs in the protection state is too high. This specification is not marked in the specification book, so it is necessary to arrange RMA to confirm whether the IC is working properly.

Hi Gareth,

How much current are they seeing at IN pin during this OVLO state of device. Also did they share there schematic? Is there any resistive divider from IN pin to GND?

OVLO Vin input current: 0.45 ~ 2.5mA,

The schematic diagram and voltage divider resistors are shown below:

The OVP VIN current limit of PCBA production test is 0~1mA

Hi Gareth,

Can you also tell me Vin range. It says 4.75V to 28V in the schematic. Are they seeing different OVLO current for different VIN value?

Hi Gareth,

Just want to add this.

For 5V Vin, we will have resistive divider leakage of 33uA. for 25V, that will be 165uA.

Another thing is device leakage which is around 400 to 600uA. so we can expect 0.45mA to 0.75mA leakage from VIN pin. Do they have anything else connected at the power rail which might be causing this leakage current.
