TPS92630-Q1: Question about TPS92630-Q1

Part Number: TPS92630-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92633-Q1

Tool/software:

Dear TI experts,

My customer checks the specification of TPS92630-Q1. And they have 2 questions. Could you check these 2 questions?

1. The part which they used before had a problem of not turing on of PWM signal is low and this low signal lasts long, because internal capacitor is completely discharged.

-> How about TPS92630-Q1? Does it have similar problem? Could you confirm that TPS92630-Q1 can work normally even low signal on PWM input lasts long time?

2. My customer wants to turn off all the outputs if one of the channel have fault conditions like short or open. Is it posibble to make it?

Please check these 2 issues. Thanks.

Best regards,

Chase

  • Hi Chase,

Could you share some application details, including your EE or VIN/Vout range, Iout, channel number, dimming requirement?

We have some new generation device of three channel, like TPS92633-Q1, which also could be an option.

    1. For our device, PWM is an input signal, the channel ON is controlled by PWM signal.

    2. Yes, our device can support one-fail-all-fails function. Please see below fault table.

    Many thanks!

  • Dear Hailee,

    Thank you for your support.

For now, my customer wants to use TPS92630-Q1 because they used it so far.

    1. So Is it okay that PWM signal is low for a very long time? Doesn't it include any internal capacitor which is related to channel on signal?

    2. Confirmed.

    Best regards,

    Chase

  • Hi Chase,

Yes. Actually, I am a little confused, PWM is the input signal, so it depends on an external input signal, why do you mention "a problem of not turing on of PWM signal is low and this low signal lasts long, because internal capacitor is completely discharged." do you have any waveforms to show more details? Many thanks!
