PowerPump - PowerLan

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78PL116, BQ76PL536

I am evaluating the possibility to use PowerPump technology in our system. At the moment we have 16 60Ah LiFePo4 cells in series. My question are:

 - Max discharge rate is 110A from datasheet, is there any way to extend it to 140-180A

 - Max cell count is 16 cells. Maybe in future we will move to 24 cells. Any plan to increase number of cells?

Thanks in advance

  • The bq78PL116 will support uto 327AHr Capacities.

Changing your Sense Resistor Value and making the Appropiate H/W Gain Settings in the bq78PL116 Configuration files will allow you have higher Discharge and Charge Currents.

Presently, there are no plans for >16s support.

There are other parts in the TI portfolio that will support higher cell counts and meet your needs. The bq76PL536 is  option.
