Can the TUSB1046-C be configured for USB 3.1 + 2 lane DP, but use only 1 lane DP?
I believe this this answers my question
Hi,
By default the TUSB1046-DCI will be configured as USB3.2 + 2 DP Lanes or 4 DP lanes. If the TUSB1046-DCI AUX snooping is enabled, then the TUSB1046-DCI will automatically drop into 1 lane DP when the source and sink negotiate for 1 lane DP over the AUX communication. In the TUSB1046 I2C mode, you can also manually disable AUX snooping and then enable only one lane (lane 0). But please keep in mind that if the source and sink are configured in 4 DP lanes, and TUSB1046-DCI is manually configured in 1 lane DP, it will cause DP link training to fail since sink will not able to receive data on 3 lanes (Lane 1, 2, and 3).
Thanks
David
Thank you for the detailed response. If we are the source, can I leave the unused DP input lanes floating?
