LM5171: ISET's "1.0V" offset / threshold

I would suggest to use OVP function to protect under unexpected direction change.

The part will stop switching when DIR is floating.

Hi Feng - Thanks for the information about DIR and OVP pin. But our bigger question is what is the tolerance of the ISET DC Offset Voltage (datasheet page 7). The datasheet only gives a typical value, but our application requires knowing what it the min and max value, so we can guarantee that we'll never cross that threshold unintentionally. - Regards, -Dan

The ISET tolerance is around 10% over temperature. That is you can keep ISET<0.9V to keep the current to zero.

To clarify, the 1V ISET offset has a tolerance of 10%, correct?

Now, if we put ISET <0.9V, doesn't that ask for negative current flow in the mode selected by DIR? We actually tried that while in Buck mode (DIR=1), and the LM5171 started boosting in the other direction. Just like the Figure on the front page of the datasheet shows, which we see is a copy of Figure 7-28.
