BQ40Z50-R2: Inquiry about Hardware Protection Latch Recovery Condition for BQ40Z50.

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ40Z50

Tool/software:

Dear TI Support Team,

I am working with the BQ40Z50 and have a question regarding the hardware protection latch recovery condition. According to the TRM, when NR=0, the RESET condition requires a Low-High-Low transition on the PRES pin.

I would like to know if this transition can be generated using an MCU GPIO pin. Specifically, when a latch event occurs, can I use the MCU's GPIO to output a Low-High-Low signal on the PRES pin to reset the latch state? If this is possible, could you provide any additional details or recommendations regarding the circuit design for this setup?

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

  • Hi Tom,

Yes, I believe this should be possible. Please ensure that this is pulled low by the GPIO pin at all times when the system is present, and that the GPIO produces the necessary levels to meet the pins specifications for a low and high signal:

    Regards,
