LMG5200: Additional parameter for LMG5200 in BOOSTXL-3PHGANINV

Part Number: LMG5200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Tool/software:

Hello,

i'm trying to find the parameter for my model.

In the datasheet, there are many Parameters, but not what i'm needed.

For the Simscape Model, i need the Ciss and Crss of the GaN. In the datasheet i just found Coss.

Also the Gate Resistance is essential for the bootstrap. But i can't find the resistance in the User Guide of LMG5200

Using the LMG5200: GaN Half-Bridge Power Module EVM

 Best Regards

Onur

  • Hi Onur,

I'll work with our internal team to determine what data we have on the Ciss, Crss and gate resistance values for LMG5200 and will get back to you with an update soon.

    Thanks,

    Subhransu

  • Hello Onur,

Since our devices include integrated drivers, the gate drive is handled internally, this is why we do not include that information in our datasheets.
For power loss modeling, the bias supply current consumption can be used to account for all driver related losses in the device, however I understand that Simscape is very different from standard power loss modeling

I am less familiar with Simscape, but myself and Subhransu will work with our team to advise on the best approach for modeling here

    Thanks,
    Zach S

  • Hello Zach,

thank you very much for your answer. In my case, I also want to model the behavior of the load current and the internal properties such as Vds and Vgs, which depend on the capacitance.

    Best regards

    Onur

  • Hello,

After confirming with our team, the only device models we can support are those listed on the device webpage which are:
    - PSpice
    - TINA-TI
    - Unencrypted Spice model

These models are very useful and contain all needed information, but obviously require spice based solver like PSpice or LTSpice. I recommend you use these tool for your simulation. Unfortunately we cannot support other model development at this time.

    Thanks,
    Zach S
